Innovation

 – Compaq strives to lead the market with innovations. Two are relevant for 

Windchill. The first is the recent development by Compaq and Corollary of an eight-processor 
(eight-way) Intel server. The result, the ProFusion Architecture, is now used by all other 
manufacturers. All eight-way systems have a Compaq chip design at their heart. Second, 
Compaq continues to enhance the resilience of its systems and has designed fault prediction 
software applicable to memory and disk drives. We call this pre-failure warranty, enabling 
customers to replace failing products BEFORE they fail and to do so free under warranty with 
no data loss.
