The following table provides an overview of the HP Kayak XW Series 0480
PC Workstation. Features that are specific to this PC Workstation (and not
found on the HP Kayak XU 0441 model) are highlighted by
underlining .
Component Features
Microprocessor
All models have: Intel Pentium
®
II Xeon™ processors with 512 KB or 1 MB cache
memory. Support for up to two Pentium II Xeon processors.

All models are preloaded with Windows NT ® 4.0.
Main Memory
Note: Registered ECC SDRAM memory modules cannot be mixed with Unbuffered
modules.
Four DIMM sockets supporting:
512 MB Registered 100 MHz ECC SDRAM memory modules to a maximum of 2 GB, or
64 MB, 128 MB or 256 MB unbuffered
100 MHz ECC SDRAM to a maximum of 1 GB.
Mass Storage
All models have seven shelves:
five front-access (two 3
½ -inch, three 5 ¼-inch) ; two internal (3 ½ -inch).
4.5 GB or 9.1 GB Ultra-Wide SCSI Low Profile (LP)

Connectors
Ultra-Wide 16-bit internal SCSI connector for both external and internal drives (up to
40 MB per second), plus two internal narrow SCSI connectors.
Subsystem with HP FastRAID Port.
Video
Controllers
Equipped with an HP VISUALIZE fx6 AGP video board. There is 18 MB of installed
SGRAM video memory. The Texture module upgrade supplies 32 MB of additional
SDRAM texture memory. The HP VISUALIZE fx6 has two connectors on the board, one
for the AGP slot and the other for the PCI slot.
