Could not update the hpcs-data* distributed switch
Symptom
The hpcs-data* distributed switch could not be updated during the installation.
Cause
After CloudSystem is deployed, the installer tries to increase the number of uplinks to two on the
hpcs-data* distributed switch for each ESXi compute host.
Action
1.
Make sure that hpcs-data* has two uplinks assigned for each management host.
2.
Assign vmnic8 or vmnic9 for each management host.
3.
Set the portgroup to have a route based on IP hash and both uplinks in active mode.
Could not register vCenter with CloudSystem
Symptom
The installation process could not register vCenter with CloudSystem.
Cause
The installer is trying to register vCenter with the CloudSystem to allow for compute nodes to be activated.
Action
Perform one or both of the following actions:

Verify that vCenter is accessible.
•
Use the following steps to register vCenter with CloudSystem.
a.
Launch the CloudSystem 9 Operations console.
b.
Select
Menu > System > Integrated Tools
.
c.
Select
Register vCenter
.
d.
Provide the smgmt01 values. The default values are listed, but your values may vary:

vCenter Name: smgmt01
—
vCenter Details: 172.28.10.10
—
vCenter Administrator: [email protected]
—
vCenter Password: Password!234
e.
Click
Register
.
The vCenter count increases, the CS9 busy graphic ends, and the notification count increases.
f.
Expand the notifications (the bell icon near the top right of the browser window) to view a
notification that indicates that the vCenter was registered successfully.
