group-name
: Specifies the user group name, a case-insensitive string of 1 to 32 characters.
Usage guidelines
A user group consists of a group of local users and has a set of local user attributes. You can
configure local user attributes for a user group to implement centralized management of user
attributes for the local users in the group.
A user group that has local users cannot be deleted.
You can modify settings for the system-defined user group named
system
, but you cannot delete the
user group.

Parameters
from
: Specifies the validity start date and time for the user. If you do not specify this option, the
command defines only the expiration date and time of the user.
start-date
: Specifies the date on which the user becomes effective. The date is in the format of
MM/DD/YYYY or YYYY/MM/DD. The value range for the MM argument is 1 to 12. The value range
for the DD argument varies with the specified month. The value range for the YYYY argument is
2000 to 2035.
start-time
: Specifies the time on the day when the user becomes effective. The time is in the format
of hh:mm:ss. The value range for the hh argument is 0 to 23. The value range for the mm and ss
arguments is 0 to 59. The mm and ss arguments are optional. For example, enter 1 to indicate
1:00:00. A value of 0 indicates 00:00:00.
