Prepare the computer for disassembly (

Remove the bottom cover (see

3.

Disconnect the battery (see 

Battery on page 33

).

TIP:

You do not have to remove the fan to remove the system board. You can remove the fan with the 

system board still installed.

Remove the fan:

1.

Disconnect the fan cable from the system board 

(1).

2.

Remove the three Phillips M2.5 × 3.5 screws 

(2) that secure the fan to the computer.

3.

Remove the fan from the computer 

(3).

Reverse this procedure to install the fan.
