Manually Recovering a NetWare System Volume
If your NetWare system volume is lost through disk failure or user error, you can
restore the SYS volume if you’ve backed it up to tape.
To manually recover a NetWare system volume:
1. From the NetWare console, enter:
UNLOAD REPLICA
to unload the Replica NLM.
2. Enter:
LOAD REPLICA -NOCLIENTS
to load Replica in a safe mode.
By loading Replica in this mode, you won’t be able to use Replica, and
network users will be unable to log in to the server until the recovery is
complete.
3. Insert the tape containing the SYS you want to restore, then enter:
REPLICA RECOVER SYS
Replica locates the first SYS volume on the tape and asks for confirmation
before starting the recovery.
4. Enter YES to begin the recovery.
5. When the volume is recovered, shut down server and reboot.
