Main Power Distribution Cable Removal and Replacement (Model 400s)
Follow these steps to remove the main power distribution cable:
1. Remove the top and side covers, all DIO-II and ISA boards, card cage and center
wall, and the rear main fan.
2. Disconnect the main power distribution cable connectors from the mother-
board.
3. Cut the tiewraps from around the main power distribution cable. Separate the
main fan cables from the main power distribution cable.
4. Remove the power distribution cable from around the front main fan, then re-
move the power distribution cable by pulling its power supply end forward
through the rear chassis hole.
Follow these steps to replace the main power distribution cable:
1. Install the main power distribution cable by passing its two-connector end
through the rear chassis hold from front to back. Then fit it into the notch above
the power supply compartment.
2. Connect the main power distribution cable to its motherboard connector.
3. Slide the power supply part way into its compartment. Connect the two main pow-
er distribution cable connectors to the power supply. Then slide the power supply
the rest of the way into its compartment.
4. Install the rear main fan.
5. Fit the main power distribution cable around the left side of the main fans, wedg-
ing it under the cable tab. Make sure that the fit is tight so that the center wall fits
correctly.
6. Put new tiewraps around the main power distribution cable and the two main fan
cables to hold them in place.
7. Replace the other assemblies earlier removed.
