Analyzing the Signal P ath Check Results

paths, the failure m ust b e at a p oint where it can aect all four paths.

Symptom in Wide BW Only . If the symptom o ccurs only in wide BW, nonpulsed-RF mo de or
only in normal BW pulsed-RF mo de, but not in b oth, then the failure is most likely in the
HP 85102. If the symptom only o ccurs in the wide BW, pulsed-RF mo de of op eration, refer
to Pulsed-RF IF Signal P ath Description and then use the HP 85102 IF/Detector Option 008
Pulsed-RF IF P ath T roublesho oting Flow c hart.
Symptom in Normal BW only . If the symptom o ccurs only in the normal BW, nonpulsed-RF
mo de of op eration, refer to the HP 8510C service man ual.
Pulsed-RF IF Signal P ath Description
See Figure 6-5 as y ou read the follo wing description.
IF Mixer Boards (A9, A11, A13, A14). The pulsed-RF IF path separates from the normal IF
path on the IF mixer b oards. On eac h IF mixer b oard the pulsed-RF IF signal o ws through
a buer amplier to the output connector J5.
