Requirements
•
HP Vectra with DOS and MS-Windows for Workgroups 3.11.
•
3COM EtherLink III 3C509B-TP ISA 10BT network adapter and driver
disk version 6.0.
•
Driver File: 3C5X9.COM version 2.05.
•
Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 3.11 media.
•
Novell NetWare 4.11 Server system that supports IPX network protocol.
•
NetWare Client for DOS and MS Windows v1.21 installation media.
Device Configuration
Procedure
1
With the HP Vectra turned off, install the 3COM 3C509B network adapter
into an ISA slot.

Connect network cable media to the 3COM 3C509B network adapter.

Power on the system and boot to MS-DOS.

Insert the 3COM 3C509 driver disk and execute “3C5X9CFG.EXE”.

Select “CONFIGURE NIC” and verify the resource settings listed above
under the heading “Device Configuration”.

If changes are required, save those changes and exit.

Remove the 3COM 3C509B driver disk and restart the system.

From the location of the “NetWare Client for DOS and Windows v1.21”
installation files, execute “Install.exe”.
