Ensure the switch is free of obstructions

and the lid is firmly closed: the kettle could

not properly turn off if the switch is constrained or

if the lid is open.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always disconnect the appliance from the power outlet

before cleaning.

1.  Wipe the outside of the body with a damp cloth or

cleaner. Never use a toxic cleaner.

2.

Remember  to  clean  the  filter  on  a  regular  basis.

For easier cleaning, detach the filter by by pulling it

upwards (see pic. 1). Then replace it after cleaning.

Do not use chemical, steel, wooden or

abrasive cleaners or brushes to clean the

outside of the kettle to prevent any gloss loss.

REMOVAL OF MINERAL

DEPOSITS

Your kettle should be periodically descaled, as the mineral

deposits in tap water may form scale on the bottom

of  the  kettle  and  cause  a  less  efficient  operation. You

can use any commercially available descaler. Hotpoint

recommends WPro Descaler. Follow the instructions on

the package of the descaler. Alternatively, you may follow

the instructions below and use white vinegar.

1.  Fill the appliance 3/4 full, boil, then unplug the

appliance  (remove  the  cordless  kettle  from  the

base unit) and stand it in an empty sink or bowl.

Gradually add 50ml of white vinegar to the water.

Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.

2.

Discard the mixture in the kettle, fill the kettle with

clean water, boil and then discard the water. Repeat

several times until the smell of vinegar has been

flushed away. Any stains remaining inside the spout

can be removed by rubbing it with a damp cloth.
