Coulter discs
The serrated coulter discs cut the harvest resi-
dues and the soil and mix the harvest residues
in down to working depth.
Coulter discs
Maintenance
¾
The bearings of the discs are filled with grease
and therefore principally maintenance-free.
Check the bearings regularly for clearance,
leak tightness and even running after ex-
tended idle times.
¾
In case of loose discs, tighten all screws with
160 ± 20 Nm.
¾
When replacing discs, tighten all screws with
200 ± 20 Nm.
Do not use adhesives for securing.
NOTE
¾
Use appropriate tools (e.g. torque wrench) to
be able to maintain the demanded tolerances!
Cleaning
¾
Do not wash the bearing locations with high
pressure cleaners.
Disc levelling
The levelling discs are located behind the tine
field and create a level surface in front of the
packer.
The discs are raised automatically when the
machine is lifted out at the headland.
Disc levelling
The height of the discs can be adjusted hydrauli-
cally. The correct setting must be found in the
field.
•
Levelling
The discs transport material into the furrow af-
ter the tine. The working depth is adjusted so
that ridges between the tines will be levelled.
•
Ridge forming
The discs transport additional material out of
the furrow behind the tine. This necessary, if
the furrows of the first row of tines are affected
by the earth movement caused by the second
row of tines (stepping effect). With these discs
the seed furrows can be uniformly defined.
•
Furrow closing
The discs are adjusted for flat running, so
that the drawn furrows are closed. This is
necessary on heavy soils or under moist
conditions, when the packer is unable to
close the furrows.
