Mercantile Premises Listing Guidelines
For compliance with the Mercantile Premises Listing, use the following
guidelines:
l
The panel door must be supervised. Use the supplied door tamper switch
and connect it to the T-LID terminal on the control panel.
l
Use a bell with a tamper-protected housing such as the AB12M Bell/Box.
The bell housing's tamper switch and inner tamper linings must be wired to
the hardwire zones on the control panel.
l
Assign the tamper’s hardwire zone to a burglary area. Program the
hardwire zone as Trouble by Day/Alarm by Night if only one burglary area is
used. Program it as 24-Hour Audible Burglary if more than one burglary
area is used.
l
All wiring between the bell and panel must be run in conduit. Remaining
wires do not need to be run in conduit.
l
All wiring that is not run in conduit must exit from the knockout openings on
the bottom or back of the cabinet.
l
All unused knockouts must be plugged using disc plugs (washers) and
carriage bolts. To plug an unused knockout opening, remove the knockout
and install a pair of disc plugs and a carriage bolt as indicated in the diagram
