Note
Formatting the hard drive will result in permanent loss of all images
and other information (for example, text and audio) recorded on the
hard drive.
In the event of an accidental Format All, go to the Data Recovery
screen to have the system attempt to restore the file system to its
original state (see

Connect the HRDV16/8 to all the local peripherals, including cameras, monitors,
alarm inputs and outputs, external storage, and ATM/POS interface equipment (see

(Optional) Connect the HRDV16/8 to a PC via a modem, null modem, or Ethernet for

To start recording, press
REC
on the HRDV16/8 front panel, then enter a user name
and password when prompted.
Connecting the HRDV16/8 to Peripherals
shows the rear panel connections on the HRDV16. Follow the instructions in
to connect the HRDV16 to all peripherals.
Note
The HRDV8 rear panel looks the same as the HRDV16 except that it has 8
analog video inputs, 8 analog video outputs, and 8 alarm inputs.
