4. The message Warning! This will delete your existing configuration
(except for the disk settings)! PROCEED?
appears. Select OK .
You are now ready to attach camera(s) to the HRDV.
Attaching a Camera
1. Unpack a compatible camera and place it on a flat surface.
2. Connect power as required to the camera (refer to the documentation that came with
the camera).
3. Connect one end of a BNC cable to the Video jack on the camera. Connect the other
end of the BNC cable to the In 1 jack on the HRDV rear panel (see Figure 3-1 ).
The monitor displays what the camera is viewing. This indicates a successful
connection.
This completes the initial system check. You are now ready to install your HRDV system.
Initial Installation Mandatory Steps
The initial HRDV16/8 system installation consists of the following steps:
1. Power up the HRDV16/8 unit and wait two minutes.
2. Log in to the HRDV (see Entering Program Mode , page 19 ).
3. Set the system to the factory defaults:
a. Press MENU on the HRDV16/8 front panel. Select Menu at the initial menu
screen.
b. Select System Setup and then select Default Settings . Wait ten seconds.
c. The message
Warning! This will delete your existing
configuration (except for the disk settings)! PROCEED? appears.
Select OK .
4. Format the hard drive:
a. Navigate to the Disk Setup screen ( MENU
➤
Storage Setup
➤
Disk Setup )
and select Format all .
To ensure maximum system performance,
make sure that you complete each step in
the proper sequence.
