Backlight
The Backlight system setting enables you to customize backlight functionality for the display. The back-
light for the color display is user-defined. The Backlight system setting screen contains three tabs: Bat-
tery Power, External Power, and Brightness.

The
Battery Power
tab determines the backlight timeout when the terminal is running on battery power.
The
External Power
tab determines the backlight timeout when the terminal is running on external
power.
The options on the power tabs are the same.
Turn off backlight:
Select how many minutes you want to elapse before the backlight
automatically turns off.
Turn on backlight:
Select this option if you want the backlight to turn on when the button is
pressed or the touch screen is tapped.
The
Brightness
tab determines the backlight intensity. Move the slider to set the intensity of the back-
light. The default is 8. The
Auto adjust backlight
option allows the light sensor to automatically adjust
the display brightness based on the ambient light. The Auto adjust backlight option is also accessible
from the Smart Sensors applet, see
