WIRING

Wire according to job or manufacturer drawings. All wiring
must conform to local codes and ordinances.

NOTE:   For more than one MicroCel operating from one

transformer, the same side of the transformer
secondary must be connected to the same input
terminal in each MicroCel and the green ground
screw must be connected to a verified earth ground
from one of the MicroCels in the group.

CAUTION

Use CCT1820 1/2-inch Knockout Bushings (nylon) or
equivalent to protect wiring entering case. Do not use
screw-clamping fittings, which exert too much
pressure on wiring and can cause a short.

Power and Communications Bus

The MicroCel C-NAP communications bus and 24V ac power
wiring is normally done with the AK3711 DeltaNet MicroCel
Bus Cable Assembly. See the Connections Using AK3711
Bus and AK3326 T-Tap Cable Assembly section.

For alternate methods for connecting the C-NAP
communications bus and 24V ac power wiring, see the
Connections Using AK3702R or AK3744 Bus Cable and
Optionally AK3326 T-Tap Cable Assembly section.

NOTE:   The AK3711, AK3702R, and AK3744 Cables and the

AK3326 T-Tap Cable Assembly are plenum rated.
For nonplenum, open areas, run cables exposed (or
in conduit if required).

Connections Using AK3711 Bus and AK3326 T-Tap
Cable Assembly

This procedure requires the following tools:

—  CCT993 Wire and Bundle Stripper (“Stripper”)
—  Channel lock pliers

NOTE:   When using the AK3711 Cable Assembly, pull the

cable to within 4 ft (1.2 m) of each MicroCel on
the bus.

CAUTION

Adjust Stripper blade before using to avoid cutting or
damaging insulation on four conductors.

Use Stripper to slit and open about 8 in. (200 mm) of
AK3711 Cable Assembly electrical jacket (Fig. 10) to
access four conductors. Slit flat side of cable jacket
containing cable identification marker. Leave open
section of electrical jacket intact to act as a strain relief
for cable assembly.
