3.Check the air cleaner

CAUTION:

Never run the engine without the air cleaner; rapid engine wear will

result.

1.Move the choke lever to the CLOSED (upwards) position.

2.Loosen the screw and remove the air cleaner cover from the air

cleaner body.

3.Check the air cleaner element for dirt or obstruction.

Clean the air cleaner element, if it is dirty (see page 50).

4.Reinstall the air cleaner element.

5.Reinstall the air cleaner cover and tighten the screw securely.
