8. Install the pinion gear onto the axle shaft in the appropriate
direction.
9. Install the washer against the pinion gear, and then install the
circlip into the groove in the axle shaft.
10.Apply grease to the teeth of the pinion gear.
11. Rotate the spring so that its end tab is pointing at the wheel
mounting bolt.

The pinion gear has an L
(left) marking on one side
and an R (right) marking on
the other side. The L
marking should face
outward when installing on
the left-hand side axle and
the R marking should face
outward when installing on
the right-hand side axle.
