Flooded Engine
For operation above 1,000 m (3,000 feet), it may be necessary to
switch to high altitude carburetor jetting (see page
).

If the engine does not start after several attempts, it may have become
flooded with excess fuel. To clear the engine:
If the battery is low or dead, use the recoil starter (page
) to start the
engine.
Turn the engine stop switch
(OFF).
Push the choke knob to the OFF position.
Hold the throttle fully open and briefly press the starter button or
operate the recoil starter several times.
When the engine is cleared, wait 10 seconds. Then turn the engine
stop switch to
(RUN) and repeat the normal starting procedure,
but don’t use the choke.
