OPERATION
EMERGENCY STARTING
If the battery is discharged or the
starter motor is inoperative, you can
start the engine manually using the
emergency starter rope that came
with your outboard motor.
1. Unlatch the engine cover latch and
remove the engine cover.
2. Remove the flywheel cover by
unscrewing the four 6 × 22 mm
bolts.
3. Set the controls the same as for
normal starting (see pages 46 – 52).
Use the fast idle control if needed.
Turn the ignition switch key to the
ON position.
