OPERATION
Connect the fuel hose to the tank and
the outboard motor, as shown. Be
sure both connectors snap securely
into place. Always disconnect the
fuel hose when storing or transporting
the outboard motor.
FUEL PRIMING
If you are using a portable fuel tank,
turn the portable fuel tank vent knob
counterclockwise to the open
position.
Hold the fuel priming bulb with the
outlet end higher than the inlet end.
Squeeze the priming bulb several
times, until it feels firm, indicating
that fuel has reached the carburetor.
Check to be sure there are no fuel
leaks before starting the engine.
Do not touch the priming bulb with
the engine running or when tilting up
the outboard motor. The carburetors
could overflow.
INFREQUENT OR
OCCASIONAL USE
If your outboard motor will be used
on an infrequent or intermittent basis,
please refer to the fuel section of the
STORAGE
chapter (p. 91) for
additional information regarding fuel
deterioration.
