Ladderball Game Play and Set Up

GAME SETUP:

• Assembly of the Ladderball target is quick and easy. First, lay out all of you tubes and connectors. The long orange

tubes are your horizontal or Cross Bar pipes, and the blue short tube are your vertical pipes. The (2) T- Connectors will

be used to connect the bottom and middle orange Cross Bars to the Vertical blue pipes and the Corner Joint will be used

to connect the top orange Cross Bar. Once the target is set up, remove the plastic plug from the game board (NOTE:

place the plugs inside the carry bag for safe keeping) and place the assembled target into the holes on the board. Repeat

the process for the second target.

• Select an open area, the spacing between ladders will depend up the playing area available and the skill level of the

players. Distances range from about 10 feet apart, for beginner players or for a smaller tailgaing space, to 27 feet apart

for experienced players if space permits.

• Assign bolo colors to each side

• Play is between two players or two players per team, one member from each team will stand next to each ladder.

Players will want to be sure to stand away from the ladder when not tossing the bolas.

RULES OF THE GAME:

Object of Game:

Each player or team takes turns throwing bolas at the opposing player’s or team’s ladder. A bolo is made up of two

golf-ball-sized balls attached by a cord. Ladder rungs are assigned point values (i.e. The top bar is worth 1 points, middle

bar is worth 2 points and the bottom bar is worth 3 point). The object is to throw the bolas so that they wrap around the

rungs of the opposing ladder. Points are accumulated after every round until one player or team reaches 21 points. The

first player or team that reaches 21 points wins.

Basic scoring rules:

• Points are counted after both players or teams have thrown all their bolas, completing a round of play

• Wrapping the bolo onto the bottom cross bar is worth 3 points, the middle cross bar counts for 2 points, and the top

cross bar counts for 1 point.

• Similar to horseshoe scoring, bolas for opposing players on the same ladder cross bar cancel one another out.

• Bolas wrapped around the vertical upright supports do not count. Bolas must wrap around the horizontal cross bar in

order tocount.

• The first player to team to reach 21 points wins the game!

Game play:

• Singles or teams throwing the bolas towards the ladder cross bars. Each round consists of throwing three bolas at the

opponent’s ladder target.

• Players in singles matches walk back and forth between ladders as play unfolds. In doubles, teams split up, with one

member at each ladder target.

• Interfering with bolas in ight is not allowed. Should it occur, the throwing player or team gets another toss.

• If a bola hits the ground and stays there, no points are awarded. Bolas that bounce up during flight and wrap around a

cross bar count in the scoring tally.

• Teams switch sides after the first team reaches 11 points.

• Play continues until one side reaches 21 points and wins!
