Special Safety Instructions for that machine
•
Work with gloves on rotating parts is not permitted!
•
Wood dust is generated when the machine is in operation. Therefore, connect the machine
to a suitable extraction system for dust and chips during installation!
•
Always switch on the dust extraction device before you start machining the workpiece!
•
Never remove chips or other parts of the workpiece from the cutting area while the
machine is running.
•
Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Better handling and less risk of jamming.
•
Excessive noise can cause hearing damage and temporary or permanent hearing loss.
Wear hearing protection certified to health and safety regulations to limit noise exposure.
•
Only use blades that are suitable for that machine.
•
Wait for the planer shaft to come to a standstill before laying down the machine. An
exposed rotating cutter may become caught in the surface and cause loss of control and
serious injury.
•
Do not touch the chip ejector with your hands. Risk of injury from rotating parts.
•
Move the machine only switched on (wait until the max. planing shaft speed has been
reached) against the workpiece to minimise the risk of kickback.
•
When working, always hold the machine so that the sole of the planer lies flat on the
workpiece. Otherwise the machine may tilt and cause injury.
•
Make sure that the workpiece to be machined is free of metal objects (e.g. screws,
nails,...) in order to prevent damage to the blades, cutter head.
•
Make sure that the workpiece to be machined is secured in its position (e.g. with screw
clamps,...) so that the machine can be operated with both hands.
•
Only hold the machine by the insulated handle, as the cutter head can damage its own
power cable and this can lead to contact with a voltage-carrying cable (metal parts of the
machine are under voltage) and to electric shock.

Hazard Warnings
Despite their intended use, certain residual risks remain.
11.6.1
Residual risks
- Risk of injury from tools/blades, especially when changing tools/blades.
- Risk of injury from workpieces/workpiece parts that can be thrown away
- Risk of injury due to kick-back of the workpiece.
Due to the structure and construction of the machine, hazardous situations may occur when
handling the machines:
D A N G E R
A safety instruction designed in this way indicates an imminently hazardous situation
which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury.
W A R N I N G
Such a safety instruction indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not
avoided, may result in serious injury or even death..
C A U T I O N
A safety instruction designed in this way indicates a potentially hazardous situation
which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury.
