7.3 Vanguard Installation
This section outlines the procedure that must be followed to setup the Patient Support and accessories for
use. Verify all parts function correctly and are not damaged.
7.3.1 Patient Support Setup for the GE Discovery 750 System and GE Discovery
750w System without GEM Option
Place the Tabletop on the 3.0T GE MRI System patient table with the foot end toward the bore so the
Tabletop cable located at the foot end of the patient support can be securely plugged into the MR scanner.

CAUTION
Do not use the riser for the GE Discovery 750w System with GEM Option on the GE
Discovery 750 System or GE Discovery 750w System without GEM Option. Using the riser
on these systems may damage the equipment and potentially injure patients.
7.3.1.1. Using the Anti-Tip Velcro straps
To prevent the patient support from tipping, the anti-tip Velcro straps must be properly attached before
allowing a patient to mount the patient support. Insert a Velcro strap into the slot on each side of the 3.0T GE
MRI System table, then slide and fasten them to the Tabletop.

7.3.2 Patient Support Setup for the GE Discovery 750w System with GEM Option
CAUTION
You must use the riser with the GE Discovery 750w System with GEM Option. Failure to use
the riser may cause the Tabletop to tip over.
