Operating the ram jack
The plungers open and close quickly until they encounter resistance. Now the pump will build up the
required pressure and continue with spreading or pulling.
Spreading
•
Make sure that a ram head or other desired accessory is attached correctly at the end of the
plunger(s) and the fixed side.
•
Place the ram jack between the parts that must be spread.
•
Force the parts apart by opening the plunger(s).
Pulling
•
Open the plunger(s) fully.
•
Place the pulling shoes correctly. The shortening hooks point with their openings upward.
•
Attach the pulling chains to the objects so that they cannot slip off.
•
Pull the pulling chains tight and hook them to the pulling shoes.
•
Retract the plunger(s) fully.
Note
To protect the battery pack, the tool will stop as soon as the battery pack gets empty. It might
happen that at that time the tool is fixated in the vehicle structure. To remove the tool it is
best to replace the battery pack by a fully charged one. When this is not possible the battery
pack can be activated again by pushing the SOC indicator button. To prevent damaging the
battery pack, this can only be done a limited number of times.
DANGER
Danger of crushing or pinching parts of the body.
Note that ram jacks have an enormous power. Use only genuine Holmatro accessories and
no other fasteners or chains.
WARNING
Prevent sharp objects from touching the plungers.
If a ram head, a conical tip or a wedge piece is used, never apply too much force; otherwise
the accessory will disappear through the opening created and the plunger can be damaged.
Caution
Never use more than one extension pipe at the same time.
Always use a ram head or other accessory on the other end of the extension pipe.
Avoid a crooked load with its risk of sliding off.
Watch out for the danger of being trapped when the plungers are retracted between cylinder
and accessory.
WARNING
The pulling accessories are intended solely for the horizontal movement of loads.
Hoisting is not permitted with these accessories.
WARNING
Make sure that the load is always supported from underneath. Continuously check the
behaviour of the load. Make sure that the tool can move freely during pulling and always
remains in a straight line between both pulling shoes.
