8 CLEANING AND CARE
damage to the device in the event that electrolyte leaks out of the batteries.
• Remove dead batteries from the device immediately.
• Electrolyte may leak out of dead batteries causing damage to the device.
• If any acid from a battery is spilled on your hands, rinse them under running
water. If any gets into your eyes, contact a doctor. The acid contained in
batteries may cause irritation or burns.
• Swallowing a battery may have fatal consequences! Keep batteries away
from children and pets. Seek medical assistance immediately if a battery is
swallowed.
7.2 Weighing
• Set the balance on an even, stable, dry and homogeneous surface. In order to
ensure a correct reading, do not place the scale on a rug/carpet.
• Press the central part of the scale with your foot to switch on the device.
•
Step onto the scale and wait until the readout display starts flashing. You will
obtain the final result of the weighing in a moment.
• The scale will automatically turn off after about 10 seconds of inactivity.
7.3
Changing units of weight
After switching on the scale you can change the unit of weight using the
button on the bottom of the scale. Each pressing of the button selects the
unit of weight in the following order: kg (kilogram) / lb (pound) / st (stone).

Display indicators
This message is displayed when the
maximum load 180 kg is exceeded.
This message informs that the batteries
are low. The batteries should be replaced
immediately.
Remove the batteries before you start cleaning the device.
Wipe the device using a damp cloth with a drop of a dishwashing detergent,
then wipe the appliance dry.
Do not clean the device with corrosive cleaning agents.
Protect the device against penetration by water or other liquids.
Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
