1. Familiarise yourself with all of the features and functions of the device.
2. Put on safety clothing and satisfy yourself that the area you are working in is clear of
any objects that may get in the way.
3. Mount the blade you want (see the “Inserting / Detaching a Blade” chapter). Remove
the protective cover from the blade.
4. Insert the battery (see the “Inserting / Detaching the Battery” chapter).
5. Adopt a stable posture and hold the device so that the blade is always facing away
from your body.
6. Switch on the device by sliding the locking lever (

) to one side and at the same
time pressing and holding down the On switch (
4
). The individual cutting edges of
the blade will move.
7. Guide the blade at an even speed using the appropriate technique (see the following
sections). Make sure that you do not hold the individual cutting edges too close to
rocks or similar materials.
8. As soon as you let go of the On switch again, the device switches off and the locking
lever returns to its starting position.
9. If you take breaks and after fi nishing work, take the battery out of the device and
place on the protective cover.
Technique – Hedges, Shrubs
•
Vertical cut: Guide the device in an arc from the bottom upwards, move one step
forward and repeat this process (
Picture C1
).
Overhead working positions should only be adopted for brief periods of time as
they are tiring.
•
Horizontal cut: Place the device at an angle of 0° to 10° and guide it horizontally
(
Picture C2
). Change the angle of the device at the edge of the shrub in a crescent
shape.
Technique – Grass (Picture D)
•
Cutting grass: Guide the device over the ground cutting at the height you want
(

).
Maintenance and Storage
PLEASE NOTE!

Always take the battery out of the device before any cleaning work is carried out.
■
All moving parts are maintenance-free.
■
Do not use any degreasing agents.
■
Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents!
These may damage the
surface.
General Inspection
•
Regularly inspect all screws to make sure they fi t securely as over time they can
become loose due to vibrations.
•
Regularly inspect the blades to check their condition, secure fi t and sharpness.
