Changing the Battery in the Remote Control
The battery is already inserted. All you need to do is pull out the transport
safeguard.
Before inserting a battery in the remote control, check whether the contacts in the re-
mote control and on the battery are clean, and clean them if necessary.
1. The battery compartment is located on the narrow side of
the remote control. Pull it out as shown.
2. Remove the used battery and insert a new battery (3 V,
CR2032). The positive pole must be facing upwards.
3. Slide the battery compartment into the remote control.
You should feel and hear it click into place.
Charging Up the Battery by USB
1. Remove the protective cap from the USB port on the bottom of the solar unit.
2. Plug the Micro-B connector of the USB cable into the connecting socket on the
battery compartment.
3. Plug the USB-A connector into the socket of a suitable USB mains adapter (not
supplied with the product).
4. Connect the USB mains adapter to an easily accessible plug socket.
5. When the battery is fully charged (approx. 4 – 5 hours), pull the USB mains adapter
out of the plug socket and disconnect the USB cable from the product.
6. Place the protective cap back into the connecting socket on the battery compart-
ment.
Set-Up
If the product is going to be used
outdoors
, the solar unit (light/dark sensor) should not
be located near other light sources such as street lights or other lamps so that the LEDs
can be switched on automatically.
Place the decorative column in a location where the solar panel can absorb direct sun-
light all day long if possible.
Anchor the solar unit in the ground using the ground spike.
1. Plug the ground spike into the mount on the bottom of the solar unit.
2. Plug the ground spike into the soil.
To use the product
indoors
, place the decorative column near an easily accessible
plug socket and connect the solar unit to a USB mains adapter (not supplied with the
product).
Putting Into Operation
1.
Connect the cables
– For the LEDs to light up in the decorative column, the con-
necting cable on the decorative column must be connected to the connecting cable
of the solar unit. Plug the cables into one another and fi x them using the cap nut
(twist clockwise to secure).
2.
Switch on
– Press the
ON
/
OFF
button on the bottom of the solar unit to switch on
the product.
