31 Install and glue the top ¼” x 3/8” corner string-
ers. The stringer should install flush with the
top of the fuselage sides.
Lay the center stringer in place and mark and
remove the overlap material at the tail. Then
glue the center stringer in place.
With a magnet installed in the fuselage hatch latch plate (FHLP)
and the assembly installed into the fuselage a piece of triangle stock
is installed. Then a the windshield (WS) wll be installed to complete
the windshield/hatch interface.
In the next step you will install the diagonal
bracing that will make the fuselage ridged and
prevent any twisting of the fuselage. It will
also perminently set the stabilizer square to
the wing. Place the fuselage on the bench up-
side down. Place some weight on the fuselage
just aft of the bottom hatch. Shim the tail up
at the front of SP. Make sure the shim is paral
-
lel to the bench top. Install and glue the 1/8”
x ¼” balsa diagonals. Glue them at the top,
bottom and center. For the first two bays, cut
them 7” long, for third bay cut them 6-1/2”
long, for the fourth bay cut them 6” long and
for the fifth bay cut them 5” long.

34 Install a 1/8” x ¼” magnet in the hole provided at the front of the bottom hatch door.

Install and glue the ¼” x 3/8” corner stringer on the bottom of the fuselage. Mark and remove the material
where the center stringer will overlap.

36 The bottom center stringer (BCS) is laser cut to position the hatch retainer magnet. Glue the remaining
magnet into the hole provided ion BCS, make sure the polarity is correct to attract the magnet in the bot-
tom hatch door.

37 Install a #8 x 1-1/2” bolt into each of the four blind nuts in the wing mount. Onto each of these install a
standard #8-32 nut, this will become the jamb nut after final adjustment. Onto each of these bolts install a
#8-32 Nylock nut. Turn the bolt until it just begins to exit the Nylock nut. This nut will provide a grip for
turning the bolt during final adjustment.
Wing attach system adjustment. Place the fuselage assembly on the bench upside down. Install the wing
bar. Back the bolts out so the heads are about 3/8” from the fuselage wing rib (FWR). On one wing panel,
latch the ant pivot pin in the retracted position. Slide the wing onto the wing bar and up against the fuse-
lage. Note that you will need to rotate the wing 12° to capture the bolt heads in the keyhole slots in the
wing root. Release the anti pivot pin and rotate the wing into the flying position until the anti pivot pin
snaps into the hole in the fuselage wing rib. Make sure the wing is flat against the fuselage and then back
the bolts out until they begin to offer resistance. Tighten the jamb nut in this position. Pull the anti pivot
pin back into the retracted position and remove and the reinstall the wing. If the wing does not capture the
bolt heads easily, back the bolts out about 1/4 turn at a time until it detaches and reattaches easily. Lock
the jamb nuts in this position. Repeat this process for the remaining wing. The wing attachment system is
now complete.
