22 Install one ¼” magnet into the hole provided

in fuselage hatch latch plate (FLHP). Install

and glue FLHP into the notches provided in

the fuselage sides as well as F2.
Cut  a  piece  of  ½”  triangle  stock  and  install

and  glue  it  into  the  notch  provided  at  the

windshield location.
Install  and  glue  the  windshield  (WS)  above

the triangle stock just installed.
Next you will assemble the front hatch. Glue

both  FHA-H  rails  to  the  front  hatch  (FHC)

in  the  notches  provided.  Check  the  polarity

of the magnet in FLHP to be sure they will

attract  and  glue  it  into  the  hole  provided  in

FHC.  Cut  two  3-3/4”  lengths  of  ¼”  square

basswood and glue one at the front and one at

the back of the inside of the hatch to stiffen it.

Place the hatch in position on the fuselage and

glue on a 4-1/2” length of 1” triangle stock to

complete the hatch/windshield area.

The finished bottom hatch hinge assembly installed on the fuselage.

Note that the hinge pin is stowed in the keeper slot at the left side

of the hinge.

Locate  the  four  plywood  discs  (BNP)  and

four #8-32 blind nuts. Use a #8 x 1-1/2” bolt

to pull the blind nuts into BNP and glue them

at the locations indicated on the plans. These

will be the wing catch bolts. Refer to the pho-

to on page 18 to identify the correct locations

for the nut plates.

Test fit the stabilizer plate (SP) in the tabs at

the tail of the fuselage. With the fuselage flat

on the bench, make sure that SP is parallel to

the bench and glue it on.

The forward hatch assembly shown here with the hatch hook rails

installed and some 1/4” square lateral bracing.

Flip the fuselage assembly over and glue on

the tail wheel mount (TWM).

Install and glue all remaining fuselage form-

ers starting with F4. Placing one side in the

notches  provided,  spreading  the  stringers

slightly  and  then  tipping  the  remaining  side

into place works best for this. Secure each one

with  clamps  as  necessary  until  the  glue  has

cured. F8 will install from the top.

30 Cut three 4-1/2” lengths of 1/8” x ¼” bass-

wood and install them into the notches pro-

vided in the fuselage opening for the wing bar

guides.
