Step 2: Horizontal stabs and tail servo installation
Take three 5g servos, three pushrods and three clevises and install in the fuselage as
depicted below. Note that two servos control the two elevators and one servo controls
the rudder. Do not trim the pushrods to size yet. There is also no need to secure the
pushrods in place, as they will need to be removed later in this step.
Attach the elevator control surfaces to the horizontal stabs using the same procedure
used to secure the ailerons to the main wings. Next, locate the short carbon fiber rod
and insert as depicted in the following image. Also insert the small locating pin to
ensure the correct angle of attack of the horizontal stabs.
Dry fit both horizontal stabs to ensure that everything goes together in the correct
manner.
