5 Begin Channel preset
Press the F.FWD/
button once. The tuner scans and memorizes all active channels in your area.
• The VCR distinguishes between standard TV channels and cable channels.

6 After scanning
The tuner stops on the lowest memorized channel. The TV screen returns to TV mode.

• If "AUTO SET UP" appears on the TV screen again, check the cable connections. Press the F.FWD/
button once again and the VCR will begin preset again.
• If the VCR cannot find the local PBS channel at step 1, after scanning channels, "AUTO CLOCK" flashes
on the TV screen. And the VCR search the local PBS channel for auto clock setting again. When the clock
is not set yet, press the POWER button to turn on the VCR, then press the number buttons or CHANNEL
(CH)
/
button to select your local PBS channel. The current time may appear on the display. If
current time does not appear, follow "MANUAL CLOCK SETTING" on page 17.
Note:
The VCR will search through all the available channels from the lowest channel. It must scan each
channel for 10 seconds to determine if that channel is transmitting the EDS (Extended Data Service) signal.
If the highest channel has EDS signal, it takes many times. To cancel this search, press the RESET/EXIT
button.
• If you want to use DAYLIGHT-SAVINGS TIME feature when current time appears, follow
"DAYLIGHT-SAVINGS TIME" on page 18.
TO SELECT A DESIRED CHANNEL
You can select the desired channel by using the CHANNEL(CH)
or
button or directly pressing the
number buttons on the remote control.
Note for using the number buttons:
•
When selecting cable channels which are higher than 99, press the + 100 button first, then press the last
two digits. (Example: to select channel 125, first press the +100 button then press "2" and "5").
• You must precede single-digit channel numbers with a zero (For example: 02, 03, 04 and so on).
