CAUTION
When conducting continuous operation, allow the
drill to operate with no load for five seconds after
each drilling operation.
3. Sander operation
(1) Sanding force
Since optimum sanding can be obtained by utilizing
the weight of the tool alone, the sander should never
be forcibly pressed against the surface of the
material. Hold the sander so that the sanding disc
lightly contacts the material surface.
(2) Sanding angle
Do not apply the entire sanding disc surface to the
surface of the material. As shown in
Fig. 4
, the sander
should be held at an approximately 15° to 30° angle
in relation to the material surface so that the
peripheral portion of the sanding disc contacts to
the material surface.
4. Polisher operation
(1) Attaching the bonnet
As shown in
Fig. 5
, wrap the rubber pad with the
hood of the wool bonnet, and firmly secure it by
tightening and tying its draw string. Be sure the
excess string is firmly tucked inside the wool bonnet
to prevent it from flying out while polishing.
CAUTION
Improper fitting of the bonnet may cause vibration
during operation.
(2) Polishing force
The weight of the polisher alone is sufficient for
effective polishing. Do not excessively push the
polisher against the surface of the material. Excessive
pressure will result in a poor finish and cause
possible overload on the motor.
(3) Surface finishing
Sanding disc, polishing compound and/or wax
should be selected in accordance with the material
and the desired surface finish. To finish the surface
to the smoothest condition, use the sander to finish
the surface with a fine-grain sanding disc, apply
polishing compound and/or wax sparingly on the
surface, and polish with the wool bonnet.
5. Screwdriver or Nut Runner operation
(1) Screwdriver operation
When the switch is turned ON, the motor starts to
run but the bit does not rotate. Attach the bit to the
screw head groove, and push the screwdriver against
the screw. The bit then rotates, tightening the screw.
Bit rotation stops when pushing force is released.
(2) Pushing force
Do not apply excessive pushing force on small
screws. They should be fastened by applying only
slight pressure on the screwdriver.
CAUTIONS
䡬
Exercise care not to excessively prolong driving time
or to forcibly press the screwdriver against the
screws, or the screws may be damaged.
䡬
Ensure that the screwdriver is held truly
perpendicular to the head of the screw. If held at an
angle, the driving force will not be fully transferred
to the screw, and the screw head and/or bit will be
damaged.
6. When utilizing wood screws
(1) Selecting a suitable driver bit
To avoid damage to screw heads and/or bits, ensure
that a bit appropriate to the diameter of the screw
head is selected. Utilize plus-head screws, if possible,
since the driver bit easily slips off the heads of minus-
head screws.
(2) Driving wood screws
䡬
Prior to driving wood screws, make holes suitable
for them in the wooden material. Apply the bit to
the screw head grooves, and gently drive the screw
into the hole.
䡬
O Keep the screwdriver bit rotation at low speed
until the screw is partly driven into the material;
then, squeeze the trigger more strongly to obtain an
ideal driving force.
CAUTION
Exercise care in preparing a hole suitable for the
screw and the hardness of the wooden material. If
the hole is excessively small or shallow, requiring
excessive force to drive the screw, the threads of
the wood screw could be damaged.
7. Tapper operation
(1) Selecting the tap
Use either a NO. 1 or No. 2 tap for machine or hand
operation.
(2) Operating the tapper
䡬
Set the rotation direction to clockwise, apply the
tapper perpendicularly and gently to the plate, and
trace the previously drilled hole.
䡬
Initially apply the tapper at low speed, and increase
the speed as tapping is begun.
䡬
After completion of tapping, switch the tapper OFF.
Then change the rotation direction to
counterclockwise and withdraw the tap from the
hole.
CAUTION
Before changing the rotation direction, ensure that
the tapper is turned OFF and the motor has come to
a complete stop.
(3) Tapping force
Tapping speed is not increased by applying excessive
pressure to the tapper. Excessive pressure may result
in broken taps or damaged threads. Apply only
enough pressure to ensure that the tap rotates
smoothly.
(4) Relationship between diameter of the tap and the
tap hole
Select a suitable tap for the desired tap hole as set
forth in
Table 1
