Preparations at the workplace
WARNING
Risk of injury by accidental triggering!
A loaded fastening tool can be made ready to fire at any time.
Accidental triggering can endanger you and others.

Always unload the fastening tool (cartridges and fasteners) whenever you interrupt work with the fastening
tool.
▶
Before all maintenance, cleaning and setup activities, always make sure that there are no cartridges and
no fasteners in the fastening tool.
▶
Before you start driving fasteners, always check that you are using the correct combination of base plate,
fastener guide, piston, fasteners and cartridge.
▶
Before commencing work, check that all safety devices are fitted and that they are functioning correctly.
In order to ensure faultless operation of the fastening tool, all parts must be fitted correctly and must
meet the necessary requirements.

5.1
Assembling the fastening tool
1. Insert the piston guide into the housing

The cut-out in the piston guide faces up when the guide is being inserted.
2. Insert the piston into the piston guide
(2)

3. Position the stop ring on the fastener guide
(3)
and secure the stop ring with the friction ring
(4)

4. Slip the fastener guide into the base plate
(5)

5. Set the base plate on the base-plate mount.

The cut-out in the base plate fits on to the projection on the housing.
6. Screw the base plate on as far as it will go

and then back off the base plate until the base plate
engages.
7. Flip the cycling lever back to its initial position

The advancer lever automatically engages in the tensioning lever

5.2
Setting driving energy
Select the energy setting that suits the application. If no empirical values are available, always start with the
minimum driving energy.
1. To increase power, turn the adjusting knob for driving energy in the
+
direction.
Energy levels:
• 1 = lowest energy
• 3 = highest energy
2. To reduce power, turn the adjusting knob for driving energy in the
−
direction.
3. Check whether the fastener was correctly driven in accordance with the operating instructions of the
fastener.
