6 Operation
 The maximum permissible pressure loss in the supply pipes to the safety valves may not exceed the
3% pressure difference between the response pressure and external back pressure on the safety
valve.
 Vibrations are to be avoided.
6.1 Liftability (manual actuation for testing)

Liftable safety valves are equipped with an appropriate device above the spring cover.
 Make liftable safety valves open at ≥85 % of the set pressure without aids.
 Proceed as follows during the initial start-up, after breaks in operation and for checking the
function:
The valve is ready for operation.
1. Pull the lifting lever away from the spring cover until
blow-off of the operating medium is clearly audible.
2. Release the lifting lever again.
