14. The ball siphon must be inspected:
– In order to guarantee the absence of leaks, the ball siphon must not be subjected to lateral loads due to the con-
densate hose during installation!
– The drainage pipe route must not rise behind the siphon! Ensure that there are no air pockets during installation!
– The condensate outlet must be frost-proof!
4.4 Connect ventilation ducts
The unit is equipped with four spigots (Ø 125 mm (KWL 220 D) or Ø 160 mm (KWL 340 D)) for connection to the duct
system. The ventilation ducts must be connected firmly and tightly to the spigots. Duct connectors RVBD 125 K (acces-
sories) for KWL 220 D or RVBD 160 K (accessories) for KWL 340 D must be used in this respect.
The arrangement of ventilation ducts (supply air, extract air, intake air and exhaust air) is shown in Fig. 3, Fig. 4, Fig. 5
and Fig. 6 on page 9.

Danger to life due to electric shock!
An electric shock can result in death or serious injuries.
> Before any maintenance and installation work or before opening the cover, the unit must be fully isolated from
the power supply.
> The electrical connection may only be carried out by an authorised electrician according to the wiring diagrams.
Unit damage due to the unnoticed resetting of the electrical pre-heater’s thermal contact switch!
The unnoticed resetting of the electrical pre-heater’s thermal contact switch can result in unit damage.
> When using an electric pre-heater (KWL-EVH), the unit must not be regularly activated or deactivated via an
external switching device (e.g. timer) in the unit supply line.
1. Connect unit in accordance with the connection diagrams. When using an electric pre-heater (KWL-EVH), a timer
must not be integrated into the unit supply line.
2. Install isolator and main switch.
An isolator and main switch (accessories) must be integrated in the unit supply line. The contact opening must be at
least 3 mm. The isolator and main switch must be secured against unintended restart by suitable means.
If a residual current circuit breaker is installed in the supply line of the unit, the residual current circuit breaker must
have the following technical features:
Type A or B with a rated differential current of 30 mA.
The unit KWL 220 D has a leakage current of
AC 0.6 mA and DC <0.1 mA.
The unit KWL 340 D has a leakage current of
AC 3.6 mA and DC <0.1 mA. An additional protective earth conductor
must be installed via separate terminals.
