CHECK THE TRAVELING OR “IN-TRANSIT”
POSITION
When you travel to and from the landfill or transfer station,
make sure the unit is in the in-transit mode as follows (see
the figure to the right):
The tailgate is fully LOWERED and CLOSED. Check
the TAILGATE UP light in the cab. It must be OFF.
The tailgate clamps (turnbuckles) are tight and
secure the tailgate.
For a unit with refuse, the blade is up tight against
refuse. For a unit with no refuse, the blade is at the
START POSITION.
The ejector panel is at the front of the body.
If equipped, the PTO is DISENGAGED.
The PUMP ON switch is OFF.
You properly ADJUST and CLEAN the mirrors.
All outside lights turn ON and OFF.
If equipped, the side access door is CLOSED and
LOCKED.
