System Maintenance
The Heat Trap Solar system is designed so that there is little to do in the way of system maintenance.
There are no anodes that require replacing, no pressure relief valves tha
temperature devices that need resetting. The system is designed to reduce the ongoing cost of
maintaining your investment.
There are no user serviceable components in
be removed and no adjustments made to the system settings by anyone other than an authorised

2.1.
Water Quality
Water supply from an unfiltered water source that may be highly conductive or have a high mineral
content may void the system warranty.
Therefore, to ensure water quality guidelines are met, the following characteristics should not be
exceeded.
In areas of poor water quality, it is recommended that a softener, condi
fitted to the water supply.
2.2.
Pressure Limiting Valve
Where the mains water supply pressure is greater than 550 kPa, a pressure limiting or pressure
reducing valve that complies with AS1357 must be fitted to the inlet of the hot w
This is essential to safeguard the appliance and ensure correct operation.
2.3.
Collector Maintenance
In the event of extreme weather conditions it may be advisable to check the installation for a build
up of debris and leaf litter.
Under normal circumstances, the glass on the collector is cleaned by natural rainfall. If the
installation is located in a particularly dusty environment, such as an industrial area, it may be
necessary for a suitably experienced person to clean the glass using normal w
chemicals. If the area of the roof is also used for water collection, par
