COUNTERWEIGHT INSTRUCTIONS
Counterweight Instruction (see Figures 15 - 23)
In order to increase the scale’s capacity to a maximum value of 500 lb / 200 kg, the
counterweight set (55070) must be acquired. The scale can be easily assembled with a
counterweight set (Part Number 55070 for whole set, 55060 for counterweight in pounds, and
55065 for counterweight in kilograms).
In order to employ the counterweight set, refer to the instructions below. Contact technical
support with any questions or concerns regarding the use of the counterweight set.
Counterweight Instructions for Weighing in Pounds (lb)
Note:
The 150 lb counterweight is required when weighing a patient who is over 350 lbs.
Counterweight Instructions for Weighing a Patient 351 - 388 (lb) (see Figures 16 & 18)
1. When a patient weighs between 351 - 388 lb, place the lower poise weight at 250 lb.
2. Place the 150 lb counterweight on the 3
rd
notch from the left, between the 50 and 100 lb
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.

4. Read and record the weight.
Counterweight Instructions for Weighing a Patient 389 - 424 (lb) (see Figures 16 & 19)
1. When a patient weighs between 389 - 424 lb, place the lower poise weight at 300 lb.
2. Place the 150 lb counterweight on the 3
rd
notch from the left, between the 50 and 100 lb
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.

4. Read and record the weight.
Counterweight Instructions for Weighing a Patient 425 - 450 (lb) (see Figures 16 & 20)
1. When a patient weighs between 425 - 450 lb, place the lower poise weight at 250 lb.
2. Place the 150 lb counterweight on the 5
th
notch from the left, between the 150 and 200 lb
value.
3. Adjust the small poise weight to match the patient weight. The poise bar will center in the
trig-loop.
