XTND 2K (40m) Extender Manual

EDID MANAGEMENT
Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) is data
sent by a display to describe its capabilities to a
HDMI source. For example, it’s what enables a
modern computer to know what kinds of monitors
are connected to it.
The XTND 2K (40) Extender has the facility to apply
a specific EDID profile to a source device. This
might be useful if for instance you would like your
audio always to be 5.1 or you always want 3D from
your BluRay player (if it’s available).
ARC (AUDIO RETURN CHANNEL)
The Audio Return Channel (ARC) enables a display to send an audio signal from the built in freeview/smart
functions upstream via a connected HDMI cable to an AV receiver or audio controller, eliminating the need for a
separate audio cable. When ARC is used in conjunction with the XTND 2K (40) extender the optical port located
on the receiver is used to extract the ARC audio.
ARC OFF - Source audio with be sent from the transmitter and will be output from optical port
on the receiver
ARC ON - Display audio signal is sent downstream via the attached HDMI cable to the optical output on the
display receiver.
