8.2.2 Venting the hydraulic system
DAMAGE
Material damage due to operation without hydraulic uid
If the hydraulic uid level falls below the minimum level, the operating temperature may rise, the
hydraulic pumps may suck in air and the hydraulic pump may fail due to cavitation.
During initial commissioning and after each opening of the hydraulic system
Fluid level too low: top up hydraulic uid.
Maintenance interval
If necessary
Aids, tools, materials
■
None
1. The machine manufacturer must set up provisions for venting on the consumer for the hydraulic
system.
8.2.3 Checking the hydraulic uid level and replacing it
Maintenance interval
Check the uid level every 90 days. The hydraulic uid is replaced as required.

Cleaning cloths and receptacle for hydraulic oil (capacity: litres)
■
Funnel and lter (10 μm) for pouring in the hydraulic uid
Checking the uid level
1. Check the uid level in the tank
2. If the uid level is too low, add hydraulic uid
Replacing
1. Switch off the hydraulic system and secure it from being unintentionally switched on again.
2. Ensure the work environment is clean.
3. Release the hydraulic power pack from the higher-level machine so that the tank can be opened.
4. Place a suitable receptacle under the hydraulic power pack.
5. Undo the drain screw on the tank.
6. Tilt the hydraulic power pack so that the hydraulic uid can completely ow out of the tank into the
receptacle.
7. Filter new hydraulic uid (mineral oil in accordance with DIN 51524).
(Recommended lter: 10 μm.)
8. Pour the ltered hydraulic uid into the tank using a funnel via the ller and breather lter.
9. Close the tank.
10.Attach the hydraulic power pack again.
