3) Replacing the Cutting Line
Always remove the battery pack from the
trimmer before carrying out any maintenance.
Note:
Always use replacement nylon trimmer
line with a diameter of 0.065” (1.65mm). Do not
use metal or line made of other material.
a) To replace the nylon line, first remove the
spool cover from the spool holder by pushing
down on the centre of the spool and at the
same time firmly pressing the two spool cover
opening buttons on the side of the cutter head.
Remove the spool cover and remove the spool
(see Fig. Q and R).
b) Remove the spool from the spool head
cover (see Fig. S).
c) Insert the replacement trimmer line through
the hole in the spool. Trimmer line should be no
longer than 10 feet (6m) in length (see Fig T).
d) Snugly and evenly wind the trimmer line
onto the spool in the direction of the arrow
located on the spool (see Fig. U).
e) Insert the trimmer line through the line
retaining slots located on the side of the
trimmer spool to hold the line in place (see Fig
V). This trimmer uses 2 lines. Repeat the
procedure for both trimmer lines.
f) To reconnect the spool into the spool head
cover, insert the trimmer lines through the
brass eyelets on the spool holder and pull the
lines out (see Fig X and W).
g) Push the spool inwards against the spring
clip and then lower the spool cover firmly
downwards onto the trimmer and turn it
clockwise until it locks in position.
Follow the instructions under the section
“Preparing the Trimmer for Use” to set the
nylon line to the correct length.
MAINTAIN TOOLS WITH CARE
Your power tool requires no additional
lubrication or maintenance. There are no user
serviceable parts in your power tool. Never
use water or chemical cleaners to clean your
power tool. Wipe clean with a dry cloth. Always
store your power tool in a dry place. Keep the
motor ventilation slots clean. Keep all working
controls free of dust. It is normal to see some
sparks flashing in the ventilation slots, they will
not damage your power tool.
Your trimmer line can dry out over time. To keep
your line in top condition, store spare pre-wound
spools or bulk line in a sealed plastic bag.
Inspect tool cords periodically and if damaged,
have repaired by authorized service facility.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. The grass trimmer will not operate
Check that the battery pack is correctly inserted
into the trimmer.
Charge the battery: the battery pack must have
a sufficient charge for the trimmer to operate.
The battery will lose its charge if it is not used
for a long period of time. Try to recharge the
battery and ensure the pack is fully inserted into
the charger.
Note: The battery will only fit into the charger
in one direction. The charger will not operate at
extreme temperatures.
2. The battery pack will not charge
Check to see if the battery is properly inserted
into the charger base and make sure the indicator
light illuminates when the battery is inserted – if
not, check the plug and fuse connected with the
power supply.
3. The trimmer does not cut properly
Check the condition of the trimmer head and
ensure the line is not too short. Replace the line
or the trimmer head.
