The system covers with sleeve method are designed for use in HSI wall inserts and
plastic flanges and for connecting smooth and corrugated cable ducts. The seal is
created with the sleeve method, with a rubber sleeve being clamped onto both the
system cover and the duct with clamping straps.
Safety
This section provides an overview of all the main safety aspects for optimum protection
of personnel and a safe installation process.
If there is a failure to observe the instructions and safety information set out here,
this may result in significant hazards.
When installing the system covers with sleeve method, it is imperative to observe
the relevant professional association rules, the VDE provisions, the relevant national
safety and accident prevention regulations and your company’s guidelines (work
and procedure instructions).
The fitter must wear the relevant protective clothing.
Only intact components may be installed.
The following instructions are to be observed prior to installati-
on of the system cover with sleeve method:
WARNING!
Risk of injury in the event of improper installation!
Improper installation can result in significant bodily harm and property damage.
•
The nationally applicable laying and filling regulations for pipes and cables are
to be observed at all times.
•
Seal the underground and cable substructure well prior to laying pipes/cables
so that the latter cannot subside.
IMPORTANT!
No sealing due to incorrect installation!
Improper installation can result in damage.
•
Do not open cable entries until immediately prior to cable installation of cables so
as to avoid unintentional damage during the structural work.
•
Do strike closing covers with a hammer or sharp object!
•
The entry may not be subjected to mechanical load caused by cables or pipes.
•
No cleaning agents containing solvent may be used to clean the HSI 150/HSI 90
system covers. We recommend using cable cleaner KR M.T.X.
• For details of other accessories and further information, see
www.hauff-technik.
de
and the technical specification sheets.
• Cable entries that are not required can be used as pressure-tight reserve entries.
• Cable entries that are not required can be used as pressure-tight reserve entries if
the Hauff seal of quality on the closing cover is free of damage.
•
Opened cable entries which are to be kept as reserve cable entries must always
be fitted with new HSI 150-D (HSI90-D)
closing covers. Closing covers that have
EN
been removed or are damaged must not be reused.
•
Cable entries must be inserted in the casing prior to concreting. The cable entry
may not be exposed to mechanical load caused by the cable ducts.
• The rubber sleeve and media pipes must not be lubricated.
•
The pipe connection may not be exposed to tractive or compression forces
•
The ring clips must be labelled identically to the designation of the corrugated
pipe manufacturer (e.g. Kabuflex).
• Other corrugated pipe manufacturers can be used on request.
• The end of the corrugated pipe must be cut off at right angles so that it is clean
and free of burrs.
• The pipe must not be damaged or deformed in the area of the sealing.
•
Care must be taken to ensure that the ring clips are positioned directly underneath
the tensioning clamp.
•
The positioning of the clip rings/system sealing rings can vary, depending on
the pipe manufacturer.
• The minimum bending radiuses of the duct manufacturers must be observed.
However, the minimum bending radiuses of the media lines/cables to be entered
must always be adhered to!
•
The use of medium to heavy-duty pounding and vibrating devices is not permitted
in the case of soil covers of less than 1 metre in compressed state!
•
In order to avoid damage to the pipes and the system seal inserts on the cable
entries, the fill material in the area of the cable entries is always to be handled
using light compression devices. In doing so, the following rules and regulations
are to be observed:
•
DIN standards regarding the classification of soils
•
The relevant standards and regulations such as DIN EN 1610, ATV-DVWK-A
139, A 515 and A 535 of the KRV are to be observed, along with the additional
regulations laid down by the supply companies.
•
In the area of roadways, it is also necessary to observe the “Information sheet
for filling pipe trenches”, issued by the Road and Transportation Research
Association (FGSV).
•
DIN EN1610: Installation and inspection of wastewater lines and sewers.
• ZTV: Additional technical contractual obligations and guidelines for excavation
work in road construction.
•
KRV (KunststoffRohrVerband – Plastic Pipe Association): Installation instruction
for pipes and moulded parts made of plasticizer-free PVC for cable protection
•
Installation instruction for pipes and moulded parts made of plasticizer-free
PVC for cable protection

Transport inspection
Inspect the delivery immediately on receipt for completeness and transport damage.
In the event of transport damage being visible from the outside, proceed as follows:
•
do not accept the delivery or only do so subject to reservations.
•
Make a note of the extent of damage in the transport documentation or delivery
note provided by the transporter.
•
Submit a claim for every defect as soon as it has been identified.
•
Claims for damages can only be asserted within the applicable claim period.
