following information and procedures to operate a Crepe Maker.
WARNING
Read all safety messages in the IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION section before operating this equipment.
Improper installation, operation, or maintenance of this
equipment may result in property damage, serious injury,
or death. Do not operate or service this equipment before

Control Panel
The following are descriptions of the controls used to operate a
Gas Crepe Maker. All controls are located on the control panel
at the front of the unit.
Ignition Button
The piezoelectric Ignition Button ignites the gas burner below
the griddle. Pushing the button creates a spark that ignites the
gas burner.
Temperature Control
The Temperature Control controls the temperature setting/
gas flow into the unit. Turn the Temperature Control
counterclockwise to increase the temperature setting. Turn the
Temperature Control clockwise to decrease the temperature
setting. Push in the Temperature Control to supply gas when
lighting a burner. The temperature range of the unit is indicated
on the control as settings 1–10 (up to 570°F [300°C]).
NOTE: Gas crepe makers are equipped with a heat-activated
safety thermocouple that will cut off gas supply to the
unit if the burner flame goes out accidentally.
Lighting a Burner
Use the following procedure to light a burner on a Gas Crepe
Maker.
1. Make sure the unit is connected properly to the gas supply,
the restraining system is in place, and the gas shutoff valve
is open. See the INSTALLATION section for details.
2. When lighting the unit for the first time after gas hook-up:
a.
Push in and turn the Temperature Control
counterclockwise to the maximum setting of “10”.
b. Hold the Temperature Control for five seconds to flush
air from the gas tubing through the burner.
c. Release the Temperature Control.
3. Turn the Temperature Control clockwise to setting “5”.
4. Push in and hold the Temperature Control; then push the
Ignition Button.
• Verify that the burner has ignited. If not, push the Ignition
Button again.
• Continue holding in the Temperature Control for ten
seconds to activate the safety thermocouple.
5. Release the Temperature Control and allow the unit to
heat for approximately five minutes.
CAUTION: BURN
HAZARD— Some exterior surfaces on unit will get hot.
Avoid unnecessary contact with unit.
6. Turn the Temperature Control clockwise to the lowest
setting of “1”. The unit is now ready for use.
Seasoning the Griddle(s)
Use the following procedure to season the cast iron griddle(s)
before using the Crepe Maker for the first time. This procedure
will take approximately 1 to 1-1/2 hours.
NOTE: Perform the seasoning procedure in a well ventilated
area—preferably underneath an extraction hood. A
substantial amount of smoke will be generated, which
is normal.
1. Perform the “Lighting a Burner” procedure in this section.

.
BURN HAZARD:
• Some exterior surfaces on unit will get hot. Avoid
unnecessary contact with unit.
• Do not come in contact with griddle during operation.
Griddle is very hot.
2. Turn the Temperature Control counterclockwise to
temperature setting “6”.
• Leave the unit at this setting for the entire seasoning
procedure.
3. Allow the unit to preheat fully.
4. Pour a teaspoon of vegetable-based cooking oil onto the
center of the griddle.

additional oil.
• A properly seasoned griddle will look like it’s varnished
with a light chestnut color.
