Troubleshooting table
Malfunctions can occur in all electrical appliances. This does not necessarily mean there is a
defect in the appliance. For this reason, please check the tables to see if you can correct the
malfunction.

Risk of electric shock in case of improper repair!
Never attempt to repair the defective or supposed defective appliance yourself. You
can put your own and future users’ lives in danger. Only authorised specialists are
allowed to carry out this repair work.

Solutions, tips
Compressor is off.
No electricity to socket.
Check by connecting another appliance.
Mains plug is loose.
Check the tightness of the mains plug.
Desired temperature has
been reached.
Further cooling not required. When the
inside temperature rises, the compressor
automatically switches on.
Repositioning.
The appliance requires 2 hours to allow the
refrigerant to settle.
Appliance cools
too quickly.
Thermostat control is set at
too cold a setting.
Turn down the thermostat control (see
„Operation“on page GB-10).
The appliance
doesn’t cool suffi-
ciently.
Incorrect temperature select-
ed.
Turn the thermostat control to a higher cool-
ing position (see „Operation“on page GB-10).
Door not tightly closed or
door seal is not completely
tight.
See „Checking and cleaning the door
seals“on page GB-14.
The appliance is near a heat
source.
Insert insulating plate in-between or relo-
cate.
Food has been put in warm. Only put in cooled foods.
Too many goods loaded.
Load no more than 2 kg at once.
Thick ice layer in the freezer.
Defrost the freezer (see „Defrosting and
cleaning the freezer“on page GB-14).
Ambient temperature too low
or too high.
Adjust the ambient temperature to the cli-
mate category (see „Product data sheet“on
page GB-24).
Compressor seems defec-
tive.
Adjust the temperature controller to “MAX”.
If the compressor does not switch on within
an hour, please contact our service centre
(see page GB-22).
Appliance is mak-
ing a noise.
Functional operating noise.
These are not malfunctions.
Humming: Refrigeration unit is running.
Flowing noise: Refrigerant is flowing through
the pipes.
Clicking: Motor switching on or off.
Distracting noises that you
can disregard.
Check that it is stable.
Remove any objects from the appliance.
Remove any foreign matter from the back of
the appliance.
