Adjusting the water hardness
Do not allow more than 60 seconds to elapse
between the following steps; otherwise, the
setting process will be interrupted.
1. Open the appliance door.
2. Switch on the appliance with the but-
ton (1).
3. Press the button (10) for 5 seconds
within 60 seconds of switching on the ap-

setting the water hardness.
The indicator (26) will flash.
4. Press the button repeatedly until the
desired setting is displayed (16). The se-

After approx. 5 seconds, the setting will
be stored.
To adjust the setting again, the appli-
ance must first be switched off again.
Automatic regeneration
In order to make sure that the water soften-
ing system works, the water softening sys-
tem is automatically regenerated at regular
intervals.
The regeneration process of your appliance
begins with the drying cycle. The water and
energy consumption then increases and
the duration of the programme is extended.
There is no regeneration process in the short
programme.
The frequency of the regeneration process
depends on the selected water hardness:

and under laboratory conditions, the
programme runtime increases by 4 minutes. The
energy consumption increases by 0.02 kWh and
the water consumption by 2.0 litres.
Test run
It is recommended that you carry out a test
run before the first dishwasher cycle in order
to remove residues from the manufacturing
process and in order to ensure that the appli-
ance functions perfectly.
If no water escapes during the test run and if
there are no unusual noises, the appliance is
ready to use.
Carry out this test run when the dishwasher is
empty and without any dishwasher detergent.
For the procedure, see chapter “Dishwasher
operation”, from page EN-22.
