Transporting and unpacking the freezer
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
Improper handling of the freezer may result in dam-
age.
• If possible, do not tilt the freezer into a horizontal
position. Only rest it against the wall to change the
door hinges.
• Where possible, transport the freezer only at a max-
imum inclination of 45°.
• Do not use any sharp objects when removing the
protective film from the door surface.
1. Move the freezer to the intended location using a trolley or
with the help of a second person.
2. Remove the packaging material and all internal and external
protective films.
Selecting the right location

Risk of damage!
The freezer also may not function properly if it is ex-
posed for a prolonged period of time to temperatures
that are colder than the lowest temperature for which
it was designed.
• Observe the specified temperature limits.
• Choose the location according to the temperature
limits and adjust the temperature according to the
ambient temperature.
• To achieve the highest possible cooling performance with the
least energy consumption, choose a location that
– is not too warm, is dry and well ventilated,
– is not exposed to direct sunlight, and
– measures at least 11 m

.
• We do not advise positioning the appliance next to an oven,
stove or radiator. Observe minimum distances:
– to electric stoves: 3 cm,
– to oil and coal burning stoves: 30 cm,
– to refrigerators: 2 cm,
