Dishwasher detergents, rinse aids and dishwasher salts
Adding dishwasher salt
NOTICE
Risk of damage!
You may damage the dishwasher and
its stainless steel surface, its seals and
fi lters by using dishwasher salt in an im-
proper manner.
■
Only use dishwasher salt which is suit-
able for dishwashers.
■
Always wipe away split dishwasher
salt immediately with a damp cloth.
■
Immediately after adding the dish-
washer salt, launch a dishwashing
programme.
You do not need to add dishwasher
salt to the dishwasher salt dispenser
– if you are only using multitabs which al-
ready contain dishwasher salt,
– if the water hardness in your area is in the
0–5° dH range.
The dishwasher salt softens the water result-
ing in fewer calcification deposits on dishes.
Add dishwasher salt:
– prior to using the dishwasher for the first
time,
– when the ‘Add dishwasher salt’ indicator
(20) lights up.
(29)
1. Remove the lower dish rack (27).
2. Turn the cover of the dishwasher salt dis-
penser (29) in an anticlockwise direction
and remove it.
(b)
3. Place the supplied filling funnel (b) on the
dispenser opening.
4. Add 1.5 kg of dishwasher salt.
5. Fill the dispenser with water to the rim.
This prevents the dishwasher salt from
clumping. Water may come out; this is not
a problem.
6. Stir the dishwasher salt using the end of a
spoon or similar.
7. Turn the cover of the dishwasher salt dis-
penser in a clockwise direction up to the
stop point.
8. Replace the lower dish rack.
9. Launch a dishwashing programme
straight away or carry out a test run
immediately upon first use using
(see „Water hardness“ on page EN-33).
