The meters are supplied with the advanced
"BEPS" technology. BEPS, or Battery Error
Preventive System, will detect a low power
condition in the battery and display "V"
(
HI 9033
,
HI 9034
and
HI 9130
) or
"LO BAT" (
HI 9039, HI 933100
and
HI 9635
) on the LCD.
This is to alert the user that the display will
shut-off after approximately 5 more hours of
use if batteries are not repalced.
BEPS shuts off the display completely to prevent erroneous measure-
ments being taken.
Battery replacement must only take place in
a non-hazardous area using the battery
types specified in this instruction manual.
In order to replace rundown batteries, sim-
ply remove the two screws on the rear cover
of the instrument and replace the four
1.5V AA batteries (
HI 933100
and
HI 9635
)
or the 9V Alkaline battery (
HI 9033
,
HI
9034
,
HI 9039
,
HI 9130
) with new ones,
paying attention to the correct polarity.
When the meter is turned on, BEPS will
detect the new battery and ensure that it
functions properly.
The meter should be recalibrated after every battery change.
HI 933100
and
HI 9635
can also be connected to a 12VDC car
battery or external power supply by means of an adapter. In
addition both meters are equipped with auto shut-off circuitry that
will switch the meter off after approximately 10 minutes of non-use.
