Wheel Bearings
The wheel hubs should be clean and repacked annually. This ensures that all contaminants are removed
and pro vides a fresh supply of grease. The following procedure is necessary.
1. Remove the dust cap, cotter pin, slotted nut, and washer.
2. Remove the hub and clean the bearings and cavity. Replace and damaged or worn parts.
3. Pack the hubs with grease.
4. Install the seal in the hub.
5. Replace the hubs with inner bearings in place.
6. Place the outer bearing, washer, and slotted nut on the wheel spindle.
7. Adjust the bearings by tightening the slotted nut until there is a resistance to rotation. Loosen the
slotted nut until the hub can be rotated freely by hand without end play.
8. Put the cotter pin through the spindle and slotted nut, and replace the dust cap.
